dinner & friends

I should do my planned post about my long weekend and the wedding I attended, but I am just so happy to be home I wanted to post about my day instead. It is beautiful weather here. I got out and exercised and walked to the market. I also worked on unpacking and setting up the place, but I didn’t get very far on that task. My biggest accomplishment of the day was dinner. Since it was Travis’ first day of work, I thought I would be a good wife and have food on the table when he got home… I made a Thai-inspired meal from recipes in the September Real Simple magazine. I made the Cold Noodle Salad with Peanut Butter Dressing and the Peanut Butter Dipping Sauce. I also made some chicken, onion & red pepper kabobs. It all turned out quite well!
Once again, I received some fun mail today. I am so lucky to have such nice friends! Chelsea sent me the cute card on the left. The rest of the loot is from Jen at Piddleloop. She sent me four great cds from the last swap we did (I already listened to one while making dinner), a cute flower washcloth she knitted, and a little pouch she made with a cute “R” charm. I love it all! It is fun to get presents!

Also, I was tagged by Jen to do a meme. I don’t know why they are called meme, but they are just like little surveys or chain letters that are passed around the internet.
Here are the rules for this meme:
1. Go into your archive.
2. Find your 23rd post (or closest to).
3. Find the fifth sentence (or closest to).
4. Post the text of the sentence in your blog along with these instructions.
5. Tag five people to do the same.
My 23rd post, 5th sentence reads:
i certainly can’t afford this stuff, but don’t you think i’m worth it?
I was talking about Creme de la Mer face lotion. I sound like such a dork. Anyway, I am tagging: Jenn R., Libby, Melanie, Luke, and Travis. I don’t know what happens if you get tagged and don’t do it…
