budget dinners = dream home

Obviously, this whole home purchasing endeavor is going to be quite the financial investment. Travis and I have already started buckling down and decided we need to eat meals at home more often in order to be more prepared for the upcoming expenses. Tonight we had sloppy joes . . . of course we used Bocca soy “meat” crumbles, so I don’t know if you would actually consider them true sloppy joes. I had two pickles with mine because I love pickles.
You all will also be proud of me because I did NOT get an iced coffee drink today. My motivation comes from all of the things I am already thinking I will “need” for the house, like this and these.
It is still not totally official, but here are some more photos of the house for those of you who are curious:

The top one is the garden on the side of the house. The bottom left photo is of the built-in buffet in the dinning area, and the bottom right is of the fire place and book shelves in the front room.

I am so happy for you two! I think it looks adorable! I can’t wait to see it after you add your “cute touch” to it all! Congrats!

A glass of iced tea, a nice table and chair, a wireless connection, and I’d be fine in that little garden area why the rest of you go shopping!

Oh, also, I can’t wait to see your drawn floor plan with all of the furniture in place, especially the blue mixer and toaster since I’ve seen those right away in the other floor plans you’ve drawn for your other places. (Wow, this will be place #4 for you guys!)

The cuteness of that house is unbearable (and I second the motion on the drapes — love the drapes).
Another place you might like to check out (and request a catalog from) is Rejuvenation (www.rejuvenation.com) — their prices are kinda high, but they make repo-period pieces that would fit the little house beautifully (and it’s worth it just to get a catalog, drool, and get some inspiration).

The whole house looks darling! Is the yard larger on the side or in the back? Its really lush and spells…..vegetable garden!! Those budget dinners are so much better with home grown veggies! When do you hope to move?

SO CUTE! And you’d be amazed at what you’ll be needing for your new home. Little things, like garbage cans, lawnmowers, and all hundreds of other things. Good luck!

I absolutely LOVE your house! I can’t wait to see it once you get into it and add the Rachel touch to it… it will be beyond cute! I’m so happy for you guys… I think that becoming a homeowner is scary (and you will not believe how much stuff you end up needing!) but it’s certainly fun!!
